"See the world doomed by an invading wild sun 6000 times bigger than
Earth!"
A giant meteor named Gorath is on a collision course with earth, so scientists construct
huge rockets at the South Pole and gently shift earth out of the way. However, the ice cap
melts and releases a giant walrus creature that attacks the rocket installation. To nudge
the earth back to its original orbit and avoid natural disaster, the monster must be
destroyed.
The monster walrus played by Nikajima is cut from American prints.

The American grandson of Baron Frankenstein, Frederick, (Wilder), denies his infamous
ancestry until he is told by an old family retainer, (Haydn), that he has inherited the
Baron's estate in Transylvania. At the castle he discovers his grandfather's secret
formula and with the aid of Inga, (Garr), and his hunchbacked manservant Ygor, (Feldman),
he makes his own monster, (Boyle). The monster escapes, meets a blind hermit, (Hackman),
and finds love from Frankenstein's fiance, (Kahn).
This earnest homage to the early Frankenstein films is given the Brooks treatment, but
despite the juvenile humour there are many moments to treasure, heightened by the
monochrome photography that manages to capture the atmosphere of the original films. The
laboratory sets were the same ones used in THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1935) designed by
Kenneth Strickfaden.
