Dormant for eons, Gigantis a fire breathing dinosaur, and Angurus, a giant spiked backed creature, awake after radioactive fall-out reaches their isolated volcanic island. Two fishermen witness the two monsters fighting and warn Tokyo of their impending arrival, but Gigantis leaves the city in rubble after he defeats Angurus. Spotted in the sea, Gigantis is buried in ice when an aircraft pilot, (Chiaki), causes an avalanche.
The first Godzilla sequel for an audiences with the IQ. of a dinosaur.
Producers were to release the film to America as THE VOLCANO MONSTER with added scenes featuring American actors and directed by Hugo Grimaldi, but the script by Ib Melchior and Ed Watson was never used when RODAN became successful in western markets without any added Anglocised scenes.
For future sequels the name Gigantis was dropped from international prints, but in reality all subsequent features were really starring Gigantis as Godzilla was completely destroyed in Gojira (1954).

A United Nations research team experimenting with weather conditions on Sol-Gell isand encounter Gimantises, giant praying mantis, who break open an egg from which Godzilla's son Minya emerges. Hearing his son's cries for help, Godzilla kills the insect giants and then together they defeat Spigon, the giant spider. Eventually the weather research team create snow which sends Godzilla and Minya into hibernation.
The eighth, and probably the best of the Godzilla series this time aimed at a younger audience and containing many amusing moments.

When Mothra's egg is moved from Infant Island by a storm and washes up on Japan's shore, a scientist places the egg in an incubator. Mothra arrives to reclaim her egg, but encounters Godzilla who battles the giant moth and is almost defeated by the newly hatched giant catapillars who spray him with silk and deposit him in the sea.
Godzilla's fifth appearance and the last time he appears as a villain and has a death scene.
Sequel: Ghidorah, Sandai Kaiju Chikyu Saidai No Kessan.

Near the coast of Ireland a prehistoric creature is released by a volcanic eruption and captured to appear in a London circus. An effective monster romp from the director of The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms and inspired by the success of Gojira.

The inhabitants of Vandorf in Transylvania are living in fear for their lives when members of their small community are turned to stone. The son of one victim and professor Meinster, (Lee), discover that the sinister Naramoff, (Cushing), is keeping a young girl, (Shelley), at his castle who is possessed by the spirit of Magaera the Gorgon. In the ensuing confrontation Naramoff is killed and the Gorgon is beheaded causing her face to revert back to the beautiful features of the girl.
Although quite atmospheric, the gorgon is rarely seen.

Five astronauts from the spacestation Gamma 3 attatch explosives on to a meteor on a collision course with earth, but inadvertantly bring a blob of green slime back to the spacestation with them. Surviving the decontamination proces the blob grows into a multi tentacled monster killing members of the crew with high voltage electricity. The station's blasters cannot affect the creature as any of it's wounds are immediately healed by it's electrical touch. The creature multiplies into several monsters that overrun the entire station while the desperate crew try to survive. Ultimately the crew have no choice but to abandon ship in shuttlecrafts and send the station into deep space.
Despite the good intentions, this is an amateurish affair with uncredited midgits play the laughable slime monsters. A single was released of the theme song.

The sinister Grimm introduces alternate versions of famous fairytales including "Sleeping Beauty" in which a young girl sleeps topless in a plastic coffin and is revived by an amorous snake wearing a small crown. The ugly sisters of "Cinderella" actually cut off their toes to be able to wear the glass slipper.
This is bizarre enough to be compelling despite the heavy handed symbolism. Producer Jerry Gross re-edited and imported the film to America.

A criminologist named Rankin, (Karloff), re-opens some old murder cases involving the Haymarket Strangler as he believes the wrong man was hanged twenty years ago. What Rankin fails to realise is that he is actually the Haymarket Strangler who killed while possessed by a killer's scalpel.
An engaging mixture of "Jack the Ripper" and "Dr. Jekyll and Mister Hyde" with a superb performance by Karloff.

The western and horror genres are mixed together effectively despite being poorly made and inept in almost every way. Released in America by K. Gordon Murray in 1965 after additional footage had been added.

An unamusing spoof. Two other versions are rumoured to exist, one with hard-core orgy scenes and another with homosexual orgy scenes.
